Leading up to November 2020, AIGA St. Louis brought together several midwest chapters to develop the Voice Your Vote campaign, which sought to provide voters with the location-specific information they would need to get to the polls. Each participating state was given the brand guide and templated assets to use, so that all information was presented in a coherent and consistent way.
As one of the art directors of the project, it was my responsibility to determine the final direction of the design, approve final colors and typography, and to ensure that icons and other assets all stayed in line with the overall brand but also stayed legible and easy to understand and communicate.
Inspiration mostly derived from the boldness of old political campaigns, and the techniques of block printing and letterpress. We wanted all of the assets to be modular and easy for chapters to manipulate as they needed.
